I happened across this today courtesy of Jim. Jason Alexander, most well-known from Seinfeld, apparently worked for McDonald's back in the day… when he still had hair.
In this commercial, he sings, dances, and get's generally excited (sorta like the Grease Movie) about a silly idea McDonald's had years back called the McDLT.
The idea is to keep the hot and cold parts of the sandwhich apart until you eat it. Seems like a good idea, but from what I heard… it flopped.

This kid is amazing! I've seen some pretty good drummers in my day, but nothing even close to this kid… especially at only twelve years old (in the video). The video is apparently pretty old, because he's all grown up now and even has a web site, located here.
A quote from his site:
“Tony
Royster Jr. is only 21 years old and has been playing drums since
the age of 3. Often referred to as a'prodigy' by his fans,
he has participated in numerous drummer events and contests worldwide
including the 1995 Guitar Center National Drum-Off competition in Hollywood,
CA which he won at the ripe old age of 11!”
Pretty cool if you ask me.

Now it's time for some comedy. I'm hoping this video has been overplayed yet, but it's sadly hilarious.
Made in the 1980's (I'm assuming), this guy has to be stinkin' clueless to actually send this to anyone. Everyone has their own goals in life, but seriously, this is depressing.
All in all though, the first time I saw this it made me smack my forehead in disbelief, so it's likely worth showing the world.

I remembered seeing SawStop quite a while ago. Although I was very aware of it's presence and cool factor, I wasn't sure about the rest of you.. so here it is:
The basic idea here is a table saw that senses the electrical current change that occurs when your flesh touches the spinning saw blade. When the system senses this change in current, it instantly applies a brake and retracts the blade.
This whole process takes 3-5 milliseconds. It's fast enough to save your finger, or in the case of the video, a hotdog.
I don't have any hard numbers on the dangers of table saws, but if you ask me, it's a pretty cool technology. Check out the video, I bet you'll agree.

After I finally tracked these down, I have to admit, it was worth the time. What an incredible idea and sweet piece of technology. These rims have LEDs that you program using a
laptop and a wireless connection. You can put almost any type of picture or colorful text you want on there. No batteries required. You can even choose time intervals for changing pictures and other options.
Pretty sweet right (make sure to check out the video at the bottom of the page)?
Prices are as follows (including tires):
| $12,500 for 22″ | $15,000 for 24″ | $19,500 for 26″ |
Whew, I better start saving up! Wait wait, I don't think I'm quite cool enough for these yet. Maybe instead I don't really like them, but just the technology behind them.. dunno. Maybe someday though, yo…

I stumbled across this video on Google Video the other day. I used to be into gaming a lot more a few years ago than I am lately (mostly because of time constraints), but this game makes me want to get back into the swing of things.
It's really important that you watch the whole video from beginning to end to get a feel for how the flow of the game works…. I know it's long (35 min.), but it's worth it.
It's a game entirely based on evolution, so it's bound to cause some controversy if it becomes as popular as I think it will. Despite the theme, I still think it will likely be quite enjoyable and an easy way to waste away the hours of my life. Supposedly, we are looking at a 2007 release from Electronic Arts.

Ok, after hearing about this Ghetto Leprechaun video for so long, I finally decided to take a look at it. I was initially confused, but after I watched a few more times, the comedic value suddenly popped out at me.
Regardless, it's not as funny as the Bubb Rubb and Lil Sis' Video… but it's fairly remarkable that this actually made the news. In the end, this video is definitely worth watching; so turn up your speakers and prepare to laugh.

On a side note: this video has spawned countless remixes and rehashes of the original, so check out places like this to see more content related to this amazing piece of internet history.

I hate to shamelessy self-promote work I've already done, but I really think you are missing something important if you haven't seen my Chewbacca video yet:
Remember Chewbacca? Yunno, the hairy side-kick to Han Solo
(Harrison Ford) in Star Wars…
Ever wondered what it would be like to dress someone in a “scary”
Chewbacca suit and ride an elevator up and down scaring a busy hotel
full of college students half to death? Well I did too, so my
buddy and I headed out with the camera rolling.
It was fun while it lasted and the video made it worth while. However, we did get in a tad bit of trouble; so beware of replicating this on your own.

Thanks to Jim (my fellow programmer and regular ping-pong opponent), I became
delightfully aware of the videos I'm about to share with you.
You need to remember, I am a programmer. We programmers are a special sort of person, we find solice in beautiful code, we enjoy daunting problems with no foreseeable end, we spend hours-on-end researching the best way to make a function operate more efficiently to save a half second of processing time. We are… disturbed.
Fortunately, at my work, we vent our stress and frustrations with a riveting game of ping-pong. It's a remarkably fun and quick way of “not thinking” for a little while. I highly reccommend it.
However, these software developers from Silicon Valley… well they found a totally different way to solve the problem. I have to admit, it does seem a tad dangerous.
A real-life Fight Club featuring:
(all videos and pictures courtesy of CBS)
- Plastic knife fighting
- Rolled-up magazine fighting
- More rolled-up magazine fighting
- Mop, toilet seat fighting
- Baking pan fighting
- Broomstick fighting
- Stick fighting
- Bathroom implement fighting
Highlights can be found here. Trust me, it's worth the jump.

I've liked cars ever since I was a kid, especially muscle cars. I've always enjoyed going really fast and getting to that speed quickly. So obviously, when my buddy offered me a ride in his replica Shelby Mustang race car, I jumped at the chance. The lack of a nice paint job is at-first off-putting, but once you are moving down the road with that V8 screaming along at 7000 RPM's, every notion I had of the car instantly changed. This thing is a monster and insanely fast. Enjoy the video and keep checking back for updates on this car as he finishes it. |

Boredom, brought on by College, once again forced my friends and I to find a constructive way to be destructive. One quaint fall afternoon we found ourselves with a fascinating scheme. I don’t really recall what inspired the idea, but I do remember enjoying the entire event as if I had suddenly stumbled upon the holy grail of “not” boring things to do: shooting compressed cans of random things with a rifle. The footage represented below is a small portion of the surviving video, it may be immature and sad, but you know you still wanna see it. |
